Entrepreneurial Marketing has given us the unique chance to reflect on both our interpersonal skills and our technical skills. It also gave us the chance to delve into our creative sides, bringing concepts that we had in our minds and bringing them to life.
Personally, I came from a background scattered between business and digital content creation fields. Originally, I thought that the difficulty of creating a startup's imagery wouldn't be difficult because of my previous experiences. However, I found that coordination of multiple team members and also applying marketing principles made these items more difficult especially when given certain timelines. Overall, branding the marketing campaigns relied on the knowledge of the user's application to be successful, rather than being rewarded for simply knowing the material (Numbers in google analytics reflected this especially). It brought forth a different skillset in students and things such as application design and strategizing were undervalued compared to marketing principles and team leadership skills.

Over the course of the semester during Entrepreneurial Marketing, I learned a ton of valuable information. It was new information that I genuinely enjoyed covering and learning more about. This course taught me things that are extremely beneficial and are essential to the entrepreneur process. Utilizing Adobe XD, running campaign adds, and using social media to promote our service were some of my favorite parts of the class. I feel like I actually learned something that I can fully use in the future for my job or even just a project that I pick up. I feel that I have gained knowledge and enough neat aspects of the tools we used throughout our course, and that is very much unlike many of the classes I've taken in my life. I went from having no idea how to manage any kind of data analysis to being able to use tools like Google Ads and Google Campaign to better understand how markets are selected and more importantly how they are marketed/advertised to. Overall, my favorite part about the entire experience was working with my teammates and figuring all this stuff out. I really enjoyed the process of us meeting on a regular basis to discuss our responsibilities and how we would go about getting our work done. Like I mentioned before, I didn't really know too much about any of this but after working with my team I learned a lot about being an entrepreneur and the work that happens behind the screen.
This previous semester I had the opportunity to take Entrepreneurial Marketing, while it was challenging, I was also able to learn and accomplish a lot of crucial information that will help me in my future career. I was able to go through the experience of building a website, as a marketing major this is crucial to my future success as we know how advanced technology is and how crucial a website can be to a company being able to succeed. I was able to learn how to use Adobe, this was always something I wanted to learn how to use but never had the opportunity to do so until this class, Adobe is crucial for digital marketing software. We were able to promote our mentor business through various marketing campaigns and that was very interesting to learn as you can also see the amount of traffic that goes through your website and what campaigns are going to be the best to make your business successful. Last piece that was crucial to learn was how to work with a team online, with Covid-19 happening, this was the only way that we were able to meet and accomplish things as a group, learning how to collab on PowerPoints and create an entire online Mentor business was very important as this could be the reality we face until Covid-19 is handled.
Throughout this past semester there have been many different skills that I have gained that I feel will be very beneficial in my professional career. Personally I am going into the field of construction with aspirations of starting my own construction company one day, and I feel that this class has helped prepare me more to accomplish this. For starters, understanding how to build a brand and strategically plan to cater to those who will want to employ my services. Along with the branding I felt that it was very beneficial to begin creating ads through google. I have always felt that diving into things like the googles ads were pretty complicated, but after tinkering with it more I was surprised to find how manageable it actually was. Combined with both of these aspects, ultimately I feel that the most beneficial take from the semester was collaborating with my teammates. We had a very good dynamic and I felt that we worked very well together. We all had very demanding schedules which made it difficult to meet up sometimes, but overall when we did meet we worked equally and efficiently. Overall it was a very successful semester and I feel that I will reap the benefits of his class in the upcoming future.
Over the course of the Fall 2020 semester, team 6 has worked and developed the foundation for the mock company 'Shepherd Recruitment'. Partners that worked on the project included: Kernan Guethe, Alex Combs, Gavin Yates, Francisco Moreno, Marcus Garcia. Within ENTRP 490: Entrepreneurial Marketing, instructor Chris Cooney had tasked groups with developing various components of a typical marketing team's startup agenda. Some the activities that groups were tasked with completing included the production of a working prototype module utilizing Adobe XD, running multiple Google Ad Campaigns via AdSense, and analyzing those campaigns with Google Analytics. Most tools used were very new to students but instruction sets/ tutorials for all major functions were provided at an introductory level. Throughout the semester our team was able to organize and work via Zoom, in order to accomplish our weekly objectives in an efficient and succinct manner. Although there were often time restraints due to personal schedules, we were always able to meet up, fulfill the required work for the week, and put in equal shares of the work load. This was one of the largest projects that we had worked on via remote connection which provided a unique challenges. Collaborating on certain projects such as the prototype, where we were all required to contribute to part of it, forced us to pursue new approaches when working on the assignment. although we could all work on it at the same time, we had to carefully detail what each person was responsible for. As for preparing us for our professional careers, we had a fantastic team dynamic that we felt has prepared us for legitimate workplace. Especially having to adapt in a virtual environment, it was a very useful skill to have. With our collaboration were were able to work together to meet our deadlines on time with all parts distributed equally so that all our ideas could be included. Also this class had shown us the necessary steps for starting our own company, and that it was surprisingly easy to begin a legitimate business. We invite you to watch our Final Concept Pitch that features our teams project and the problem/solutions that we plan to introduce to the online mentorship industry. We also summarize all the market research that we conducted, as well as the statistics we gathered from Google Analytics. In addition, the video features any plans that we have to expand the idea for the future. Throughout this course I was able to better comprehend concepts related to advertising and marketing. Some of these concepts included utilizing Adobe XD to create a feasible and working prototype phone app, designed for the iPhone 11, running ad campaigns with set funding through google ads, creating and running business Instagram and Facebook accounts, and creating a website for users to platform off of. This process taught me the ways in which a business can successfully use online advertising in collaboration with social media platforms to attract new customers. By creating a strong online presence, the chances of attracting a customer to your website begin to increase, allowing you to decrease bounce rate and increase the amount of clicks you gain on your website. Being able to see the statistics of the Google ads and the type of traffic on the various social media platforms allowed our team to pivot our strategies to ads and posts that gained better results, which helped our teams agility and adaptability. Through this course I feel like I have gained the ability to successfully start up ad campaigns and run a professional social media presence in tandem with a working website. This class has be instrumental in me learning how to market a new business.
with the advent of Shepherd's Facebook Business page, we have begun the process of reaching out to potential consumers of the service, as well as potential mentors in order to build a base for our business. We hope to first reach out to mentors themselves and have them on standby so that as soon as we find mentees they are able to hit the ground running. Although traffic to our media pages is slow, we hope with constant monitoring and aggressive expansion, we will be able to attain a few dozen followers by the end of the month.

We hope to use these avenues in order to expose our brand to the masses, help explain who we are, and gain a base of consumers. once we gain enough followers and make a substantial amount of posts, we will begin to implement paid advertising though these outlets in order to reach a larger audience.

Through our mobile app, students will be able to have constant communication with their mentors and be able to manage their account while on the go. The student on the go, who is either in school or working, so they can still be confident in their choices. Within the app, we have provided several pages that will help students manage their profiles.

Our Initial Prototype: https://xd.adobe.com/view/3d566bfe-cc7c-4266-bf7f-314c691a86fe-6805/ At Shepherd Recruitment LLC., we are committed to providing emerging professionals and aspiring students the opportunity to find the necessary mentors within the industry of their choice. We focus on developing corporate development skills and technical skills unique to ones preferred position. Two main groups we wish to focus on marketing to are emerging professionals and students with need. Emerging professionals pertains to those attempting to enter their industry of choice who either completed a college degree or are transitioning between jobs and wish to pick up a new skill set. The second group of students refers to those with abnormal circumstances who are struggling with balancing work flow and personal endeavors. We also plan to onboard a variety of mentors that have more experience in an industry than your average "college mentor" and show skills that have real applications. We plan to begin advertising through typical mediums such as company websites, display banners on social media, and other paid promotional pieces. Shepherd also expects to partner with Universities such as Washington State, working as a connection for the emerging professionals described. Additionally, we are seeking partnerships with other business and hiring agencies to make individuals more marketable to their dream companies.
