Our research thus far has concluded that there is a strong demand for a well know and easily accessible web site for mentor/mentee connections. When discussing the business proposition with alumni and students, we found that not only were the students intrigued by the idea, but so were the alumni. In fact, many of the alumni admitted that they would be more than happy to sign up for a program like this. In fact, all of the alumni stated that they would sign up for the program just to be able to help those in need. Although there are other competitors in this field, we feel that they are more adjacent competitors, rather than head on. We know that this program will have a positive impact on young adults, in fact one study shows that “mentees are promoted five times more often than those not in a mentoring program.”

When thinking about an idea to pursue, we all agreed that we wanted to create something that would help others. As we began to brainstorm, we thought of parts of our lives that could use improving. We narrowed our focus to job searching, specifically in the realm of entrepreneurship. We all shared a similar narrative of having difficulties finding jobs through mainstream websites, and how most time they didn't even provide you with any one on one mentor experience. So why not make just that? Time after time we noticed how literature and professors stressed the importance of finding some type of mentor if you are looking to start a business. We figured with a strong alumni base we could easy conduct research and build a solid foundation and begin to make a viable site.
